‘Duck Dynasty’ star gets heartbreaking health news: ‘There’s no curing what he has’
Fans are sending prayers and well-wishes to “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson, and his family, after it was announced that he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
That’s not the only hurdle the 78-year-old is facing, according to his son Jase Robertson, and things don’t sound good.
“We were trying to figure out the diagnosis, but according to the doctors, he has some sort of blood disease causing all kinds of problems,” Jase said on the ‘Unashamed with the Robertson Family’ podcast.
He also revealed that his father has been battling the blood disease for years, but that it has been getting worse.
“We’ve got a team of doctors, and then we have another set of doctors who are looking at all the tests, and they’re all in agreement that there’s no curing what he has,” Jase said.
If there’s any good news here, per NBC News, Jase said the Alzheimer’s is in early stages and Phil still wants to be a part of the podcast.
“I’m like, ‘Well Phil, you can barely walk around without crying out in pain, and your memory is not what it once was,’” Jase said. “He’s like, ‘Tell me about it.’ So he is literally unable to — I think he would agree — to just sit down and have a conversation.
