Nancy Pelosi to endorse JFK heir Jack Schlossberg for Congress
Nancy Pelosi will endorse Jack Schlossberg in a crowded primary race for Congress, according to insiders.
Pelosi, 85, is set to offer her support to John F. Kennedy’s grandson, 33, as he attempts to represent New York’s 12th congressional district.
Schlossberg, a social media star, is JFK’s first direct descendent to run for elected office.
The former House Speaker believes that his ‘candidacy will help Democrats win nationwide,’ per a Pelosi statement reported by The New York Times.
‘This moment calls for leaders who understand the stakes and how to deliver for the people they serve,’ she said.
Pelosi planned to make her endorsement for Schlossberg public on Sunday, the outlet adds.
Schlossberg called Pelosi ‘a hero’ of his and said her support felt like ‘a shot of adrenaline.’
‘A lot like what I felt when she ripped up the president’s State of the Union last term,’ he added.

Schlossberg, JFK’s grandson, is seeking to replace Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler, who will retire from office after 34 years
Pelosi also referred to Schlossberg’s ‘passion for solving problems – particularly his ability to engage and inspire young people,’ according to The New York Post.
She claimed there was ‘incredible excitement around his candidacy.’
Schlossberg announced his candidacy in November. He is seeking to replace Jerry Nadler, 78, who is one of the oldest members of the Democratic caucus.
Nadler is retiring after 34 years in office, prompting a bevy of candidates to seek nomination in the contested primary.
Pelosi’s endorsement for Schlossberg would mark the most high–profile show of support in the race to date.
She is retiring from Congress next January, but remains vastly influential in the Democratic Party.
Nadler has declined to endorse Schlossberg, saying that his successor should have ‘a record of public service, a record of public accomplishment.
Schlossberg ‘doesn’t have one,’ Nadler said.

The primary also includes former Republican and outspoken Trump critic George Conway and Parkland school shooting survivor Cameron Kasky, who would become the youngest ever member of Congress.
New York’s 12th congressional district is the wealthiest in the state, encompassing large swathes of Manhattan.
‘I think that this district needs somebody who knows how to fight effectively in this new political era that we’re living in,’ Schlossberg told the Times in November.
Schlossberg gained viral fame as a liberal heartthrob by posting shirtless photos and clips of himself practicing ballet or hoverboarding while reading poetry.
He currently has more than 179,000 followers on X, 827,000 on Instagram and 863,000 on TikTok.
Now, Schlossberg is hoping to become the seventh member of the Kennedy family to have served in Congress.
The others to do so are JFK, RFK, Ted Kennedy, Joseph P. Kennedy II, Patrick J. Kennedy and Joseph P. Kennedy III.

Schlossberg’s mother is Caroline Kennedy, who was only five years old when her dad, JFK, died in 1963. Meanwhile, his father is Edwin Schlossberg.
The aspiring congressman is also a cousin of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Kennedy scion previously called RFK Jr. a ‘rabid dog,’ as he lashed out at the Trump administration.
Earlier this week, Schlossberg again took aim at the president.
‘Trump can take the Kennedy Center for himself,’ he wrote on X. ‘He can change the name, shut the doors, and demolish the building.
‘He can try to kill JFK. But JFK is kept alive by us now rising up to remove Donald Trump, bring him to justice, and restore the freedoms generations fought for.’
The Daily Mail has reached out to Schlossberg’s campaign and Pelosi’s office for comment.
