Addressing food insecurity at West End Farmers Market in California neighborhood

A Louisville nonprofit is doing its part to address food insecurity throughout the city.Change Today, Change Tomorrow held a West End Farmer’s Market in the California neighborhood on Saturday.The market features fresh produce for the community, cold press juice, Local Food Purchase Assistance boxes and other local vendors.Organizers say the market not only supports those facing food insecurity but is a way for the community to come together.”I’ve been surprised to see a lot of the reactions of the community members,” said Mark Robinson, the Co-Lead with West End Farmer’s Market. “It’s definitely wholesome. A lot of people came to the market just to develop their relationships and that’s what we kind of need.”The next West End Farmer’s Market will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8 at S. 25th Street.
