NYC fast ferry ridership surging on Staten Island, data shows

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYC Ferry is the city’s newest mode of public transportation, and since it started running in 2017, ridership on the system continues to grow as the boats bring millions around New York Harbor.

Even though the system hasn’t expanded since 2022, the number of passengers on the NYC Ferry is growing consistently, and has more than surpassed pre-pandemic ridership numbers, according to data.
