Ryder Cup 2025 LIVE: Team Europe within touching distance of victory on final day after

It’s par for both men on the first hole. Thomas missed a long putt for birdie before Fleetwood followed suit.

Meanwhile, up next, we have Bryson DeChambeau and Matt Fitzpatrick.

The American starts things off with a terrific drive which, again, is met with a loud cheer from the home fans.

Despite all the negativity of late, they’re in fantastic spirits.

Take a bow Cameron Young! The Ryder Cup rookie sinks a stunning 25-foot putt to go one-up on Rose and it’s met by a roar from the crowd.

Meanwhile, the next match-up is set to start – with Justin Thomas and Tommy Fleetwood about to tee off.

Both men land right at the first cut and are making their way down the fairway. You can feel the energy building around Bethpage…

The first match-up of the day – between Justin Rose and Cameron Young – has begun!

Rose leads Team Europe out, tasked with setting the tone and he finds the fairway – while Young pulls one right and lands in the rough.

A reminder that USA need to win 9 of the remaining 11 points in order to stage a historic comeback…

Along with Riath, we’ve also got Senior Sports Writer Daniel Matthews at Bethpage today – who will be providing all the insight from Long Island.

Captain’s Luke Donald and Keegan Bradley just shared a final handshake on the makeshift bridge between the clubhouse and the first tee. The grandstand here was full by 9:45am on Sunday, more than two hours before the first tee shot was fired.

A man carrying two American flags just sprinted out on to the first tee and down the hill towards the crowd. The grass looks very wet but thankfully he managed to keep his footing. It would have rather summed up this American performance had he taken a tumble

Captain Luke Donald remains the calm eye in the storm.

His decisions have been precise and his demeanor steady amid one of the most chaotic Ryder Cups in recent memory.

Ryder Cup crowds are famously partisan. That’s the deal. But this year’s crowd at Bethpage Black has raised eyebrows – and blood pressure.

Booing during backswings. Personal heckles. Chants aimed at caddies. Even the occasional beer tossed in the direction of a WAG.

It’s been electric, yes – but borderline toxic at times. The New York crowd came to play… and they didn’t bring golf claps.

Whether the Team USA fans still have the energy to heckle and chirp – after their dreary displays – remains to be seen.

All of a sudden, talk of the top-secret ‘envelope’ rule is rife.

It’s come into play for the first time in 30 years after Viktor Hovland withdrew from Sunday’s session with a neck injury.

But what actually is it? Well, we’ve got you covered with our story below.

Daily Mail’s Chief Sports Feature Writer Riath Al-Samarrai is at Bethpage Black for today’s action. He said:

One observation from the putting green – at 45 and with a creaking back, Justin Rose is still committing more hours than the younger swingers.

He was here a full two hours before his round, doing drills with Phil Kenyon (the putting guru who also works with Scheffler, among others). Close to an hour before his opponent Cam Young emerged.

Team Europe star Viktor Hovland has spoken.

“There is nothing more I would like to do than be out there representing Team Europe and trying to help them win the Ryder Cup today.

Not being able to do so is pretty heartbreaking. I will be backing my team as hard as I can and rooting them on.”

Breaking news from Bethpage: Viktor Hovland has withdrawn with injury.

The Team Europe star had been nursing a neck issue in recent days and it’s proved to be too much for him.

Harris English will not play for Team USA and that match result is a tie – thanks to the rarely-used ‘envelope’ rule

Score is now 12-5 and Europe needs just 2 points to retain the Ryder Cup.

Amid Team USA’s abysmal showing this year, eyes are already turning to 2027 – and Phil Mickelson has officially ruled himself out of the picture.

In response to a post from Lee Westwood on X – ‘Hey Phil Mickelson fancy Adare Manor 2027?’ – Mickelson replied bluntly:

“No rumors. My Ryder Cup involvement is over. I’m happy being a spectator and rooting for Team USA.”

With Adare Manor two years away, the search for America’s next leader continues… but it won’t be Lefty.

Two days. 16 matches. And one record-breaking performance from Team Europe.

After four sessions of foursomes and fourballs, the scoreboard reads Europe 11.5, USA 4.5 – a margin that rewrote the history books.

No team has ever led by seven points heading into the final day of the Ryder Cup.

Europe dominated Friday’s morning foursomes and never looked back. Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood have led from the front.

Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton have been near-perfect.

And while the Americans found pockets of form, they’ve lacked the firepower and cohesion needed to halt the blue tide.

Here we go. The 12 head-to-head battles that will decide the 2025 Ryder Cup.

Here’s how the final day’s singles matches will unfold, with tee times in Eastern Time:

1:52 p.m. – Sam Burns (USA) vs. Robert MacIntyre (EUR)

2:03 p.m. – Harris English (USA) vs. Viktor Hovland (EUR)

If it goes this deep, Hovland could have the Cup-winning putt in his hands. Let the games begin.

Good morning from Bethpage Black. The final day of the 2025 Ryder Cup is upon us – and Europe stand on the brink of history.

After two days of dominance, Luke Donald’s men lead the USA by a 11.5 to 4.5 – the largest two-day advantage in modern Ryder Cup history.

The chants of ‘Championes, Championes, Ole Ole Ole’ may be echoing in the distance already – as European fans prepare to enter party mode.

However, this is the Ryder Cup – sport’s greatest pressure cooker – and if there’s one thing we know, it’s not over until it’s over.

Can Keegan Bradley’s Americans dig deep on home soil? Or will Europe complete a demolition job in the cauldron of Bethpage Black?

Buckle up. Sunday Singles are about to begin and everything is still up for grabs… just.
