Old Port revives major New Year’s Eve celebration as winter lineup launches
The Old Port of Montreal is bringing back a large-scale New Year’s Eve celebration for the first time in years with Grand Minuit, an event set to transform the waterfront on Dec. 31.
The night will feature music, fireworks and a unified countdown, marking the city’s most ambitious New Year’s gathering in recent memory. The full lineup will be revealed on Nov. 26.
The revived celebration headlines a full slate of winter programming rolling out across the Old Port.
The season officially kicks off Nov. 29 with the return of the Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan, complete with live entertainment, roaming elves, food trucks and a meet-and-greet with Santa. Visitors can also take advantage of 2-for-1 offers at Mini-Putt Montréal and the Tyrolienne MTL Zipline.
Other highlights include the 18th edition of Igloofest, running Jan. 15 to Feb. 7, and Bota Bota spa-sur-l’eau’s major expansion as it celebrates its 15th anniversary. Ongoing attractions such as the Cercle polaire light installation, the lighting of La Grande Roue’s towering Christmas tree and Bateau-Mouche’s winter domes add to the holiday atmosphere.
Food options will be plentiful throughout the season, with BeaverTails, La Boîte à crêpes, La Cabane à chichi and Simard Pizzéria all offering winter treats on site.
