The Scoop Biloxi now serving up specialty ice cream flavors to the Coast
BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) – A sweet, new attraction featuring specialty ice cream flavors is now open in downtown Biloxi.

“We’ve been saying for years, ‘Biloxi needs an ice cream shop, Biloxi needs an ice cream shop,’” The Scoop Biloxi owner Jessica Parker said.
Now, Biloxi has an ice cream shop located right on Howard Avenue called The Scoop Biloxi. For Parker, opening an ice cream shop is a full-circle moment. Her first job was scooping ice cream at 15.

After living on the Coast for years and wanting more ice cream options, she took matters into her own hands.
“Whenever the opportunity came to us in this building, we were like ‘Well, there’s the perfect spot, perfect timing for us. Let’s make an ice cream shop out of it,’” she said.
Parker said she hopes the shop, which sits at 829 Howard Avenue, adds to the years-long Howard Avenue revitalization project.
“This ice cream shop for us is like our contribution to that. We really want to help build that,” Parker said. “So, we’re hoping this will help bring more foot traffic down here, we’re hoping it will be a family environment that will contribute to that whole vibe of being able to come downtown, get out of the car with your family and just be able to go to boutiques, shops, eat, dessert.”
Serving up more than 30 different specialty flavors, the ice cream comes straight from Cammie’s Old Dutch Creamery in Mobile. Flavors are unique for each season, like Christmas Tree Cake, Sugar Cookie and Eggnog.

Parker says the shop itself is just as unique as the ice cream flavors.
“We have local art. Julia Reyes did our mural on this wall and then we have my four children are painted on that wall. Jim McCloskey, another local artist, did that. So, we’re just trying to bring some different elements to this shop,” Parker said.
She said to keep an eye out on The Scoop Biloxi social media pages every week or two to see new flavors being featured.
