Shamrock Season returns! McDonald’s reveals must-know February 'shake' date
SHAMROCK Season is right around the corner, and McDonald’s fans will soon be able to get their hands on two tasty seasonal treats.
The fast food chain has officially announced the return dates for the beloved Shamrock Shake and Oreo Shamrock McFlurry.

Each year, McDonald’s hosts a limited-time promotion known as Shamrock Season in honor of St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, with the promo typically starting in mid-February.
If you have been dying for a taste of the fan-favorite, light green ice cream treat since last March, then you are in luck.
“Shamrock Season is upon us, and McDonald’s fans have struck gold (or should we say green)!” McDonald’s announced via its USA Menu Spotter.
The fast food giant shared that the Shamrock Shake and its sweet companion, the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry, would officially hit the Golden Arches’ menu starting February 17, exactly one month ahead of the holiday.
A SWEET RETURN
The iconic Shamrock Shake is made with classic vanilla soft serve and Shamrock syrup – artificially flavored mint green syrup – and finished off with whipped cream.
Foodies can also score some minty magic with a cookie twist with the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry, which is made with classic vanilla soft serve, Shamrock syrup, and Oreo cookie pieces.
“Whether you’re feeling lucky or craving something refreshing, these seasonal favorites won’t be around forever,” wrote McDonald’s.
“Catch them before they vanish like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!”
The beloved Shamrock Shake was first created back in 1967 by Connecticut franchisee Hal Rosen to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

The mint-flavored shake was then introduced in select McDonald’s locations nationwide by 1970 and has since become a staple seasonal item that foodies await every year.
Meanwhile, the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry launched in 2020 as a celebration of the Shamrock Shake’s 50th anniversary.
McDonald’s fans are already celebrating news of the treats’ return on social media.
One customer shared word of the upcoming relaunch on Facebook, saying, “You are welcome in advance.”
“My favorite,” responded one user, as another said, “Thanks for the heads up! Been looking for the sign in the window.”
