Political expert explains: President Trump blasts Gov. Moore over sewage spill
President Donald Trump called out Maryland Governor Wes Moore and other DMV leaders for not helping clean up the massive sewage spill in the Potomac River.
Political analyst John Dedie explained the tensions between the President and Moore.
“This is the way President Trump rolls with threats, hyperbole, etc. Something goes wrong in Maryland. Let’s figure out a way to blame the governor…If Trump had been President when the bridge collapsed, he would have blamed that on Wes Moore, too. That’s the modus operandi,” said Dedie.

Trump also shared the following on Truth Social:
“In many ways, it only elevates Moore’s profile nationally… because Trump is creating conflict with more. In many ways, he elevates him with progressives and 49 other states, and they see a guy being attacked by the President. They see a guy that has somewhat people feel is Obama esque qualities,” said Dedie.
Trump’s statement comes following the President’s promise of federal resources to protect the Potomac and water supply. Trump also said the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) would play a key role in coordinating the response.
Dedie said that Moore needs to be careful when calling out the President.

“If [Trump] decides again, you know, we need to get rid of more federal workers and things like that. I think you have to be very careful in dealing with Trump in that aspect,” said Dedie.
