Huge N.J. oceanfront home for sale comes with a cool ‘bonus’
This oceanfront Jersey Shore house was built for multi-generational living.
It’s two houses, attached by a bridge, that total more than 10,000 square feet. They have a combined 10 bedrooms and 10 full- and two half-bathrooms. It’s listed for sale for $10 million.
It was built as a spec house in 2013 by Michael Ziman, a custom home builder on Long Beach Island.
“It was built to be one of the best that Long Beach Island had seen so far,” said Bonnie Wells of Coastal Living Real Estate Group, the listing agent.
The main house has seven bedrooms and seven- and-a-half bathrooms. The guest house has three king-size bedrooms, two that are ensuite, plus another full bathroom.
The living room of the main house seats 13, the dining room seats 18 and a breakfast bar can seat six people.
“In that one open-concept space you can comfortably seat 37 people,” she said. “If you have a six or seven bedroom home you want to be able to accommodate all of your guests in the living area.”
The home also has more than 2,800-square-feet of ocean-facing decking and one of the largest oceanfront pools on the island, Wells said.
The pool is 13 feet by 28 feet. Most oceanfront pools on the island are 8 feet to 12 feet, she said. “The width of this pool is what their length would be.”
The home rents for $45,000 per week and was rented by a celebrity this summer, Wells said. “Their privacy is maximized and the home has everything they need.”
Access to the guest house is right off the open concept living, dining room and kitchen. The guest house has it’s own kitchen and living room. “Your house guests feel like they have their own little oasis,” she said.
The home is located in the North Beach neighborhood of Long Beach Island. “It and Loveladies are two towns a lot of people gravitate too,” Wells said. They have private drives, the beaches in front of the homes are only used by the people who live there and nearly all the homes are newer construction.
It’s a short bike ride or a walk to the dozens of restaurants, stores, pickleball courts and jet ski ramps in Surf City, she said.
The home was listed for sale Aug. 12 and has had a “surprising amount of interest,” Wells said, adding, “at this price point people take a long time to make a decision.”
The buyer will likely be parents who have children who are getting married who no longer fit in a four bedroom house, when you add babies.
“This house is the perfect candidate,” she said. “Everybody gets their own space and can enjoy the beach.”
