A Kensington man is in Exeter Hospital after contracting Eastern equine encephalitis, West Nile virus, and St. Louis encephalitis. According to his family, Joseph Casey has brain swelling and can barely speak, though doctors are unsure which illness is causing his symptoms. Casey’s sister-in-law said his condition is concerning, given his usual health. “Anybody that knows Joe knows that he is a big, strong guy, and for a mosquito to take him down like this is terrifying,” said Relatives said Casey is showing signs of progress and has been moved to a progressive care unit.
