Election results live: Hedge fund tycoon warns Mamdani’s rent plan is a ‘hydrogen bomb’

The world is eagerly awaiting the results of several key elections today, with one hedge fund tycoon warning that a Zohran Mamdani win would be like a ‘hydrogen bomb’ for New York City.
Some of the most-watched races include the Big Apple’s mayoral race, gubernatorial contests in New Jersey and Virginia, as well as a redistricting measure in California.
Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and rising star democratic socialist Mamdani are battling it out for the city’s highest office.
However, Cliff Asness, the CEO and co-founder of NYC investment firm AQR Capital Management, has warned that Mamdani’s rent freeze plan would be a ‘hydrogen bomb’ for the real estate market.
There are just a few hours left on the East Coast for voters to head to the polls before the results start pouring in.
