These highly viewed Portland homes sold fast and for over the asking price
Home shoppers and people curious about design or neighborhood home prices scroll through online photos and descriptions on real estate marketplaces like Redfin.
Each week, Redfin releases information on the homes for sale that received the most web traffic.
The Oregonian/OregonLive reported Oct. 27 on Redfin’s most popular listings. Three of the top five properties have sold. Each one also sold for more than the asking price. Here are the details:
Sunnyside Craftsman

Sold for $637,000, which was $37,500 over the original asking price of $599,900. The 1904 Craftsman house at Southeast Taylor Street in Southeast Portland’s Sunnyside neighborhood received an offer four days after being placed on the market Oct. 16, and the transaction closed Nov. 20.
The Jessie M. Raymond House, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, has coffered ceilings in the living and dining rooms and three upstairs bedrooms among 2,854 square feet of living space.
The 0.12-acre lot includes Portland Heritage Tree 117, a Pacific dogwood (Cornus nuttallii).
“From its graceful wraparound porch and stone-columned entry to the woodwork, leaded glass and pocket doors inside, every detail tells a story of early 20th-century craftsmanship,” said listing agents Carmel Siler and Tyler King of Windermere Realty Trust.

Mount Tabor house

Sold for $628,000, or $28,100 over the original asking price of $599,900. The three-level, updated house, built in 1924 at Southeast 72nd Avenue in Southeast Portland’s Mount Tabor neighborhood, has 2,007 square feet of living space.
An offer was accepted six days after the property was placed on the market Oct. 16 and the transaction closed Nov. 20.
“With three bedrooms and three full bathrooms, this rare layout provides comfort and flexibility for a variety of lifestyles,” said listing agent Jennifer Moody of Stellar Realty Northwest. “The oversized garage with exterior access presents exciting ADU (accessory dwelling unit) potential for future expansion or income opportunity.”
The 0.13-acre corner lot has mature trees.

Hayhurst cottage

Sold for $471,100, which was $21,101 over the original asking price of $449,999. The three-level, 1928 cottage at Southwest Fairvale Drive in Southwest Portland’s Hayhurst neighborhood has a seismic retrofit, refinished original fir floors, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,446 square feet of living space.
An offer was accepted four days after the property was placed on the market Oct. 17 and the transaction closed Nov 5.
The 3,920-square-foot lot, which includes a backyard catio (screened cat patio) and cat skybridge, is adjacent to a green space, said listing agent Heidi Hopfer of Neighbors Realty.
“The certified backyard habitat features easy-to-maintain native plantings, terraced landscaping, with both upper and lower decks perfect for relaxing or entertaining,” she said.
